Great photo and title! Nice and light and the shadow creates another "hat effect". I've seen similar natural structures in Turkey and Tajikistan.

You must have been in Cappadoce... I dream to go there... it's the same way from erosion but in Cappadoce you have a volcanic aera and here it's on a sedimentary layer of fluvio-glacial

I think in Cappadocia they have both kinds - there is a place with these "rock mushrooms" but really big ones. In Tajikistan I just saw them by a lake. No one really paid any attention to them and they were not a tourist attraction at all. So strange.
