Daily bread, daily life, a photo from Alger, Coast

Photographer's Note

It looks like that this woman have bought food after work from one of the bakeries in the old town. In the backdrop we can see stairs that leads further into the city that are located on a steep hill.

As I mentioned in my previous post there the entire old city are built of a cluttered mix of narrow streets with small cafes, shops , workshops etc. That makes it to the most interesting part of Algiers in my opinion. Just walk there, get lost and discover new alleys and people.

In the workshop there are more photos from the old town.

Hej Boa,
Tre bilder med väldigt stark lokal atmosfär, egentligen mest i extrabilderna, men här skapar trapporna och de matchande färgerna den finaste kompositionen. Det är nästan så att kvinnan i blått och svart kan vara nära att "gå in i väggen". Ja, det jag minns bäst från Alger var hur lätt det var att gå vilse, och det kan man ju nästan ana av de här bilderna. Alla tre är helt i min smak.

Nicely caught the moment, as the lady climbed the stairs, going home with two baguettes.
Personally, I prefer the sight shown on the WS #2, more a daily-life scenery, but all looks interesting shots.

Hi Boa,another great post from your last original trip in Algeria,the main pic is very well playes with the graphism of the staircase,and we can see the french influence in this country watching the typical french bread,the baguettes,in the hand of the woman. I like a lot the 2 WS too,the first with a lot of people on the street reminds a me my last post,nice other shot with the fish shop and some old man in the best position. An excellent daily life photo. The zigzagging pattern of the stairs makes a beautiful backdrop and the lady is very well included. It's a nice detail that the door at right has got the same shade of blue as her clothes.

A good upward pov on the Muslim woman carrying a loaf of bread. I like the zig zag pattern of the stairs. It looks like she has some Turkish style round baked bread too in her plastic shopping bags. Tfs!

Three interesting views of Algiers' old town.
Your second picture in the WS is an amazing street view. What an exciting place to get lost.
On the main photo I like the zigzag dark railings of the stairs against the white wall. The baguettes seem to have remained popular since the colonial past.
