Photographer's Note

The sea at the beach of Ouidah, 4 km south of town and with some fine places to stay, is wild and with strong undertowl, too dangerous to swim. It's gret though to feel the stream when you stand in the water and to watch the people of the village nearby pull out the nets with fish.

Mooi plaats heeft u gekozen voor deze foto, tussen de duinen en de witte golven van de zee.
De helling van de duinen zorgt hier voor een mooi zandkleur.

A superb perspective along this deserted beach. The dynamism of the incoming waves is beautifully capture; I can almost hear the noise ringing in my ears. I like the contrast offered by the golden sands against the greyish blue tones of sea and sky. Wonderful sharpness.

C'est curieux comme la nature peut être belle et cruelle !
La beauté de l'image est patente, le sable et les vagues venant mourir doucement sur la grève donnent une impression de bonheur. Compte tenu de la pente, la baignade doit être particulièrement dangereuse à cet endroit.
Une photo très réussie avec cette très longue perspective.

Hi Gerrit, when I think of Africa, I do not normally think of its beaches (which given its huge coastline, it must have plenty of). So thank you for bringing us such a photo, rarely seen on TE. I love the wildness and untouched nature of the beach. The sea looks so powerful and contrasts well with the golden sands and palm trees. Great job, TFS and I wish you a good week, Lisa
