Photographer's Note

At the end of the 4 km long road between Ouidah and the coast that is called 'route des esclaves', road of the slaves is a monument for the mass deportation that was held here from the 16th till the 19th century.
A very impressive monument against the crime of slavery.

A fine capture of this unusual monument marking man's inhumanity to man in a trade that has, unfortunately, been entirely stamped out. A well chosen point of view combined with good colours and sharpness.

Everyone is of agreement, this deportation should never have been considered. It is useful to commemorate this history, even if this splendid monument is a ridiculous compensation compared with the gravity of slavery. Very beautiful monument, excellent photo. Cheer.

Nice photo of this large monument. The angle of the shot is nice giving the scene a sense of depth and direction. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness.
