Photographer's Note
This small temple lies only a few feet from the Gate of No Return on the beaches of Ouidah. The photo was taken early in the morning during the dry season with the Harmattan wind blowing south from the vast Sahara.

Hi Caleb!
Thanks for posting something we rarely see here:)! The temple seems really interesting and you framed it very well. I like the colours and the background with the palm trees.
I guess I had never seen a similar temple!

Caleb, nice stark shot, well presented. I like the sort of ruddy coloration that runs through the whole shot - even the trees to an extent. The building itself is striking and a little foreboding, even, especially in the context of its surroundings.

Caleb,
When I opened this I was surprised that it was not a thatched roof. I imagine that is a sign that it is seen as an important building. I really like that the building is off to one side balanced by the row of trees. Nice muted colours.

Hello Caleb,
The red light of dusk (or dawn) creates a mysterious atmosphere surrounding the simple temple which fits the ideas most Westerners have of the Voodoo religion. The emptiness also underscores the spookiness I detect.
I was in Ouidah very long ago but I didn't even reach the beach before the police "deported" me. They didn't like white people with cameras in those days.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Caleb,
it was very rewarding to get up early and take this photo. The light and colors are very pleasant and the mist creates a mysterious atmosphere, perfect for Voodoo temples :) Nice composition, Tfs this shot from Benin.
Have a nice eveniing.

Very nice and well composed photo with the temple positioned to the right. I also enjoy the rose tone that creates a very special mood. Perfect sharpness. TFS and have a nice day!

HI Caleb,
Great composition and use of a different format crop works well. I like the balance and the way the right hand side of the hut is free of trees. I also like the way you have positioned the door in the frame so as it is facing into the image. Great work
Thanks for sharing
Kathryn
