Photographer's Note
This year the rain season took much longer then usual and in the Northern Botswana and Zambia the daily precipitation reached up to 250 mm even in the end of January. It was fascinating to watch during a 300km drive from Nata to Maun how such a storm builds up from small cumuli clouds to a real storm system of about 20 km in diameter. Later then from a small Cessna we saw this beautiful storm over the Okavango Delta. This beautifully meandering channel is called Moanachira River and creates the Northern boudery of the Moremi Game Reserve .

Michael, this is enchanting. You have so many things to draw us in – the vibrant green of the earth beneath, the magnificent line and curve of the waterway, the dark hovering storm clouds. Your choice of point of view and your composition are both excellent.
Well done!

This is a fantastic image but I think in a landscape shot like this the vision gets restricted for the choice of vertical canvas which I think can be overcome by choosing a horizontal canvas which I have tried in PP; see if it is useful or not with a :)

Hello,
Very impressive landscape. It is very different of what it looks like last July.
I like a lot the play of the colors and the river flowing like a snake in this green area.

Hi Michael, What a wonderful aerial view of this beautiful area, the strong yellows are superb, that sky looks very hominess, however the contrast in light is brilliant, a very lovely photo, kind regards Wilson.

Hello Michael,
I heard so much about this Okawongo river,
but it is difficult for me to organize a trip to Bostwana..
Anyway, your picture is for me the best that one could expect from a plane. The big "S" is really outstanding. I find the clouds too saturated but this is a personal opinion.
I wish you an excellent week - Izzet

Fascinating picture. Happy to see that there are still untoutch places on earth. Thank you for taking this picture and sharing it.
Very good colours and excellent POV. I´m a geography student (climatology) and the cloud formation caught my attention.
Very good.

Hi Michael,
what a stunning view is this?
The meandering channel is like a snake! The Pov is excellent and the colours vivid and I would say fantastic! The bright light on the earth contrasts the cloudy sky so much!
It was very kind of you to share this wonderful image with all of us. Thank you very much!
Warm regards,

Simply fascinating!!! Simple composition, yet so powerful nad with greqt intense colours. Good saturation. The reflection of the storm in the winding river, going in the distant, these electric-green plants... All is good!
Man, you really have seen a lot of places...

Hello Michael,
this is a masterfully composed image. At first, the ws made me thing that this would look good horizontal...but after giving it some thought, the river is too important in the compo and you gotta go with the format that follows its shape.
I love the reflection in the water, but I think you pushed the colors in the sky a little bit too much for my taste.
This place looks so wild and beautiful!

Very good photo with yellowish green and tones of blue interwoven. The blue water reaches the light blue of the sky and then the blue in the sky first darkens and folloeingly gets light again. And the curves of the water line gives quite a soft view to the photo.Congratulations.

Ah! Okavango, the largest inland Delta created by the Okavango River which without being able to reach the Ocean, empties itself into the Kalahari and creates what we see here with one among the largest concentration of African Wildlife...
I've no words to describe this beauty, truly only an aerial photograph like this can do justice to this landscape.
Thanks for sharing...
Cheers, Blue

A lovely shot: the contrast between the colours is stunning as the bright green of the forest stands out excellent against the dark stormy sky. The serpentine created by the river leads the eye to the background.
Excellent.
