Photographer's Note

I intend to share few more beach photos from Boa Vista but for a change I wanted to show something different. At the time of writing, there are just three huge all-inclusive resorts on the Boa Vista Island, all of them belong to the hotel chain Riu. Riu Karamboa, Riu Palace and Riu Touareg. The last one is the most isolated, built pretty much like an oasis in the desert and with its architecture as the name suggests it refers to the North African style. The place which comes to my mind for comparison is the famous Moroccan At Benhaddou. Of course, as it is usually in the case of the hotels, the architecture is largely simplified here with just simple references to the style.

I usually avoid showing photos of a hotel, making exceptions only if a hotel is truly extraordinary, which was the case here. One can say that the hotels are the most sophisticated man-made structures on the island. In addition to it, this was my only blue hour session on Boa Vista. It is a fragment of a wider view from the balcony of the room, where I stayed. I had an amazing sea view, but I decided the buildings themselves are more interesting.
