Coast of Good Hope, a photo from Boa Vista, Barlavento

Photographer's Note

One of the most popular tourist attractions on the island of Boa Vista is a shipwreck located along the Coast of Good Hope (Costa de Boa Esperança). The wrecked ship was called Cabo Santa Maria and even if it looks ancient, it was stranded here just in 1968. I will show you a closer view of it later. In this photo you can find it as a black dot along the beach in the distance. This was quite an impressive panoramic view in a real life but there was a mist hanging over the area which made it difficult to capture an interesting photo. I am not a big fan of shipwrecks and I was more interested in other destinations but this was part of the tour and I am glad I had a chance to experience this place. I read in few different sources that in the past this area was dangerous for tourists with some cases of violent attacks, but I think this is the matter of the past. We drove through this area on quads, which added an aspect of adventure to this trip but sine there were few of us it was more difficult to stop for photos every time I would normally do.

Hello Mariusz,
A beautiful coastal landscape with this wide beach with not a soul in sight. The textures and brown and reddish colours of the land look great a well, especially next to the deep blue tones of the sea. Very well done.

the landscape is almost a desert at side of the sea. very rustic. I presume the sea bath should be nice here too.sometimes the fishers of cape verde when lost in the sea arrive in seashore of ceará, brazil, in the place where I was few months ago.

Ciao Mariusz,it is really beautiful to see this beach photographed with digital, the real colors brought me back to the emotions of the quad tour that I had done too, unfortunately with the film the colors were not so '... great capture with the wreck still there' after so many years, we will see it later in your gallery. I can't say that this beach is too crowded for me :)
So quite a nice coastal landscape.
I like the colour contrast between the red brown foreground and the blue ocean.
Wonderful with the many upcoming waves.
Wasn't the ocean in Cape Verde too rough to swim in and was the climate very hot or moderately warm?

you're not a fan of shipwrecks???? what? haha...they're some of my favorite subjects, just like abandoned buildings. if I didn't read the note I wouldn't know that was a shipwreck out there. the landscape itself is just so pretty, it dominates everything here, what's not to love? An impressive image of this so arid and lonely coast, that when you see it one thinks of a landscape from another world, the movement of the waves with their crest of foam reaching the beach is very beautiful.
A magnificent range of colors, which gives an attractive color scheme.
