Photographer's Note
I am no expert but I think these are either Ptolemy (Greek) or Roman sarcophagi, which copied the earlier ancient Egyptian style but didn't quite mimic it precisely. Taken in the old Cairo Archeological Museum, which has since moved to Giza.

I've added a workshop showing another set of carved coffin lids.

Hello Chris,
These heads are really beautiful, even though they may be "poor copies" of Egyptian works. Those in the WS seem slightly more mass produced, with less personal facial expressions. In both photos you handled the light well.
Best regards,

Hi Chris,in fact it looks like an attempt to copy the Egyptian style, it turned out quite well in the main photo while in the WS you can see the difference considerably, original and curious captures from the Cairo museum, I don't remember these at all. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Bonjour Chris,
La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des sarcophages. L'image est claire et nette. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hi Chris
A good one, especially as it looks like it was taken through glass. Recently there was great footage on TV of the move from the old to the new museum.
cheers

Hello Chris,
I think you are right.
The decorations are very similar but the faces don't look Egyptian. That said, these are fine, sharp photographs, where the details can be clearly seen. There is just a little damage on Anubis but otherwise, they are in excellent condition.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris,
Very nicely decorated sarcophagi. I wonder whether one of them is a boy and another girl or rather one of them is sad and another smiling.
The ones in the workshop look even more Roman.
Very well done,

chris
marvelous these two images. I liked them a lot. the WS looks like supporters of São Paulo football club with their shirts.
