Photographer's Note

A small beach just before Fort Qaitby in Alexandria. In the bg is a tile mosaic depicting fish and boats. The spire of the mosque was too tall too include. Several people in the water have spotted me and are watching cautiously. I didn't bother with a zoom lens for them, but did get some closer shots of the mosaics. It advertises the Ras el-Tin (Cape of Figs) fish market. A closer view I found on the net.

Hi Chris,
wow this is a very colorful harbour scene. It made me first think about the famous harbour on Malta but what a surprise, Alexandria is so infrequently visited by tourists and such an interesting spot. Pity that the tower was truncated here but I understand your focus on the beach and colorful boats. Very vibrant and so eye catching,

Hello Chris,
It's a nice and colourful view and it's probably best seen from this angle. Those persons don't seem interesting enough to have required a closer look through a zoom lens. The boats are more important, and the mosaic is nice. The note explains its presence, otherwise I would have asked "what's a mosaic like you doing in a place like this?".

A great and colourful view of this small beach packed with little wooden boats in different colours Also the artwork behind them and the light yellow building look great in this clear sunshine. The people near the shoreline or in the water add a pleasant mood.

We get few picture out of Egypt.
The boats, mosque and big painting cares for a good picture.
Composition and presentation are very well in difficult circumstances through the rush of the boats

I've been to Alexandria, but with the exception of the new Bibliotheca Alexandrina, I didn't think this city was a top destination in Egypt.
I must immediately add that I would certainly have found such a harbour and beach scene very attractive and no doubt I would have taken pictures of it as well.
A sunny and colourful photo of the boats a bit criss-cross on the beach, a view of the water, an artistic wall and the mosque behind it. A few people provide human presence in this beautiful scene.

This is a very 'jolly' photograph!
It is so full of features and so very colourful that, it immediately gave me the impression of a funfair or theme park!
It's neatly cropped, with a leisurely, curved guide line.

Hello Chris, a scene jammed packed with detail.
Very colourful and in sharp focus. The mosaic is very attractive. The dome of the mosque and the square tower look good against the blue sky.

Alexandria is a place that's been high upon my wishlist for a long, long time. I don't know why really, it just appeals to maybe. Probably its history and reading "The Alexandria Quartet". We don't see too many pictures of it here, so thanks for adding one. Great view, well taken. Tfs!
