Photographer's Note
The 17th of August 2007 I was part of a group of people ivited to the inaguration of a water supply system. We were a little bit late and as we arrived the major of the village cut the rope (or whatever it is called in english) of a water fountain...and the system was inaugurated. People had waited for several years to the complition and about 30 women with yellow jerry cans stormed the 6 taps to fill them with water. Today the dwellers of this area have access to several public fountains and there is no need for them to walk and wait for 2 hs to get its water. This little boy is one the beneficiaries of this system.
cheers and hope you like it

Hola Rolando,
Me gusta mucho la foto por la intensidad de colores y lo que transmite.. se ve claramente en la mirada (la cual considero que esta increiblemente captada) que el niño esta feliz de tener agua potable despues de tanto tiempo.

Rolando,
quite interesting to read your text to this amazing kid. It gives some clues to what you're doing in this quite battered place of Africa. Amazing effect that you achieved with the sky reflecting in the boys eyes. Is that the joy of the potable water that is now available?

A great shot Rolando...maybe your best yet. The boy's eyes are engaging, staring right through the viewer. Sharp and detailed with nice color also. The one thing I like the most is the reflection in his eyes, where there is blue sky, the land and your reflection also.
Great work.
Can't wait to see what you do with an SLR.

Fantastic portrait! Very sharp and clear, which is difficult to achieve in closeup shots. I was just thinking that the boy's eyes look just like black star sapphires, where the light radiates out from the center. Amazing photo; thanks for sharing!
