Lake Naivasha, Kenya. June 2017

After entering Kenya and spending a few days in the busy (and not very safe) streets of Nairobi, the minibus to Naivasha offered nothing but great, wild scenery. The interior was decorated over the top, as usual in this vast country, and the music was limited to worship songs. In Kenya you'll hear the words of God whether you like it or not.

Naivasha turned out to be a small village, but we wanted to get a glimpse of their supposedly famous lake. You can pay $80 and get access to great spots along its southern shores, but instead, I tried to find the lake on my own.

The forest road first crossed the old, abandoned railroad that the government is currently trying to re-open. Then into the wild it went, and towards the lake. After some walking across emtpy grassland (Lesson: Google Maps isn't always right), I found the lake along with some of the sights it offers.

The animal kingdom rules the lake and it's one of the most popular national parks in the country. It's also popular among fishermen, who usually work every day out on the lake before they sell today's catch at the market in Naivasha.

Lake Naivasha is the highest located lake in the Rift Valley, at 1,884 meters.

J'aime beaucoup le choix de la profondeur de champs pour cette composition remarquable où les marabouts prennent la vedette dans ce marécage avec les hommes en arrière plan.
