Photographer's Note

Mauritius tropical island is situated in the indian ocean with incomparable beaches bordered by coral reefs, translucent sea lagoons, world class hotels, casinos, sophisticated cuisine and above all, charming, friendly people who delight in making your stay a treasured experience.
No wonder Mark Twain was moved to exclaim that God modelled heaven on Mauritius....Mauritius is remarkable in its ethnic diversity. Mauritian society is woven from multi-cultured threads: Indian, African, Chinese, European. This has produced a 'heady' brew of races, languages, religions and eating habits. English is the official language, but almost everyone reads and writes French. Many Oriental languages are also spoken, but Creole remains the lingua frinca the picture shows a view taken on one of the small islands on the east coast of the island called Isle au Cerf which means Stag Island..Water sports as well as a delightghtful restaurant to satisfy those comming from windsurfing or water skiing or just a good swim like those in the pictures. The island offers a golf course mainly to the hotel residents situtated nearby. The trees on the frony are the filaos which are usually found around the coast they add to the tropical sound with their needleslike leaves filtering the sea breeze.
