Photographer's Note
Salam aleikum Arabic spoken greeting in Morocco, like “Hello” But it translated as “Peace be upon you” It is quite difficult and long just to say it, but once you say it a few times, it just kind of roll off your tongue, and it come naturally and sound natural. Say it to one of the native Moroccans and you may just get a smile like this one in return.
Photo taken in the middle of nowhere between the Middle Atlas Mountain near Merzouga.

Salam aleikum Way!
You uploaded a shot from Morrocco before, but actually this is THE perfect opening shot really, isn't it? A great smiling face from a country which has a reputation to be difficult for photographing people. My own experience is limited to a couple of days in Marrakech only, so I don't really speak from personal experience. I wonder what your thoughts are on this issue.
I'll be looking for more. Thanks for sharing.

Il suo sorriso sprizza gioia e trasmette allegria.
Bella la cornice che crea un effetto 3D sulla mano.

Hi Way
Excellent portrait, the detail and light is superb - perfecto sharpness, I am pretty sick I did not go to Morocco while living in Europe, now I am way too far away. Not sure about the hand being cut out so it goes over the white border but does not bother to be honest. Great work on this portrait.

Hallo Way,
Vriendelijke groeten,
Robert

A very cool image, relaxed and happy pose, a very interesting face and expression with that priceless genuine smile. Love the look in his eyes and the focus there is spot on with good connection. Superb details, face lines add the pleasant character and good use of depth of field, unobtrusive background. This is a fine well composed portrait in difuse even lighting and sharp too. A happy portrait. Well done

Hi Way,
Not usual this kind of shots from you. When discovering it in the gallery, I thought it was an Yquem shot.
And I see you take portraits with wide lens you too, like Yquem.
It's a very nice portrait of a man with a very sympatic face. Always so pleasant to meet smiling people.
The hand out the frame disturbs a little the main subject according to me.
I'm waiting the next...;)

Bonjour Way,
C'est tellement de bonheur ce sourire! L'homme est manifestement très sympathique. C'est un portrait tellement vivant que l'on a envie de lui serrer la main. Très bonne idée cette astuce graphique avec la main, je m'en souviendrai.

Sabaidie Way!
This man seems to be smiling at you from outside a car window as I read your threads. A small part of the window continues on the top right part. Nice smiling portrait....wrinkles always bring out character on the face. Like the hanging hand over the border concept...works well!

clearly worth learning the phrase to get such a wonderful smile and the the way you've framed this so up-close and personal with that hand seeming to reach out to the viewer from the frame is simply super.

Hi Way,
This is a beautiful, interesting post with the note saying how a kind way of greeting people is rewarded by the most expressive smile. It's so nice to hear about friendly relationships in these troubled periods of war !
Great portrait that could almost have been sepia.
A tribute to joy and international friendliness.
Thanks for sharing.
Kindest regards.

Hello Way,
You really have some great shots in your album, including this one. It is great that your photo & note demonstrate how even a simple word like hello takes on different meanings throughout the world. For instance, in the Fon language of southern Benin, hello is 'Afongandjia' which means 'did you wake up well?' As for your portrait, it certainly gives a lot of meaning to 'peace be upon you.'
Have a great weekend,
Caleb
