Photographer's Note

This shot was taken in the late afternoon from the rim of the Grootberg Plateau looking down and across the Klip River Valley where there are permanent fresh water springs.

A haven for wildlife including the, once endangered, black rhino, desert elephant and lion. This part of Namibia, generally known as Damaraland after the people who inhabit the area, is one of the most scenic areas in the country, prehistoric water courses with open plains and grassland, massive granite koppies and distant mountains create the landscape.
