Photographer's Note
Last year I had the pleasure of driving around Namibia with a Chinese couple for a few days. I learned a few lessons along the way.
1. Look at the map. Namibia's road network looks absolutely outstanding. They have a lot of roads for so few people. But...it turns out you'll have a hard time finding paved roads except for the main highway.
2. Don't drive between cities at night. You're going to get tired or hit an animal. It's cold too, at least in July.
3. Couchsurfing isn't necessarily the best idea there.
4. Don't ever skip an opportunity to fill up the tank.
5. Don't pick a two-wheel drive car.
6. Don't drive too fast on the gravel. You may get a puncture or a broken trunk lid. They have these sudden dumps that are impossible to see until you're up close.
7. Don't forget to drive on the left side of the road.
Despite all of this, we had an unforgettable journey! Those were some incredibly eventful days. The picture shows Dune 42 of the Sossusvlei National Park right after the park opened at 6 am. We had been sleeping in the car right outside the gate, so we were first in line for the opening.

Bonjour Frederik,
Etonnants contrastes de couleurs. La Namibie semble être un pays surprenant. Jolie photo.

Hello Fred
I am waiting for the book. Back in the 1980s and 90s there were a collection of books called the day in the life..... America, Israel, China, Russia, and so on. So here we are waiting for a book from Fredrick. What would we call it? Your images are stunning with potential for print. Nice work.

Hi Frederik
Good idea to sleep at the gate to benefit of the first rays of sun which reden the sand dune and create a daek shadow. The snaking ridge of the dune is prolongated by the trail, and itys eems thats the trees are negative at left and positive at right!
Cheers

Hello Fredrik, I know this view well! Interesting experience to go by car in Namibia. I was there with the organized trip, with the tents and overland truck. I loved the trip, it was so well organized.
Here I was also at sunset. Stunning view of this famous dune,
104 countries, big wow. I hope to see my 81 and 82 soon :).
kind regard s MAlgo
