Hello Rosemary,
Another fabulous image of the Namib. Looking critically at the composition, exposure and definition but I cannot fault it. And there are more elements here than one would initially think...the foreground with ripples in the sand and patches of dry grass, the zone of trees below the dunes and the beautiful clouds above all make a wonderful result. Well done.

Hello Rosemary,

As soon as it rains on the French territory, most between us fulminates, but I am sure that in these arid areas the providential rain is certainly welcome, from where this word “chance” in your title… A very beautiful photograph where I particularly appreciate the contrast of colors with this cloudy sky and the balance of the image. the landscape of the desert is really beautiful, its textures and the trees under a good game of light and of shades are outlined in the composition, but I believe that the sky and the clouds also play a great aesthetic role.
I like this attractive composition.

What a sky over the dunes Rosemary !
Must have been also very rewarding to climb and shoot from the top the details of lights and shadows in the sand

Hello Rosemary.
A very well shot landscape, with the light and shadows on the hills really attracting the eye. The photo has a great sense of space and is generous with the very atmospheric sky. The dark forms of the trees break the flatness nicely and remind one of the life that is found everywhere, even in deserts. Some may have been tempted to overdo the contrast and saturation in this shot, but I think you got it just right.

Hi Rosemary. Not the usual shot one would expect from Africa.but then the wet season is a long one. The cloud covered sky has given a richer timbre to the sand and has enriched the textures. Quite a view of this inhospitable place. Regards. Klaudio.

You could have used a nd grad for this shot in order to balance a bit the light in the bright clouds.

Hi Rosemary, nice composition, with the eye drawn to the tree on the right. I love the skyscape - there's a sort of perspective effect with diagonals leading the eye into the distance. I've been thinking recently of investing in a set of Neutral Gradient filters, and I can't help wondering if they might help here to reduce the over-exposure in the brightest parts of the sky. Just an idea! TFS, Colin.
