Photographer's Note

Foreigners rarely come to these villages, so the locals are so curious about us as we are about them. I'm preparing a big selection of portraits to send them, they usually like to see their own photos!
This is still the same Bedik village of my last post. It's a magnificent place but it's a hard way to get there, as the Bedik villages are usually at the top of the mountains and there are no roads, only a hard way, with lots of rocks that we need to climb.
The Bediks are Animists who kept their traditions thanks to their decision of living isolated, this way escaping slavery and avoiding the influence of Islam. Some of them became Catholic, as it was the case of this village where there is a little church.
