Photographer's Note
After taking the requisite pictures of the three Rondovals I was just turning to head back to our car when I noticed a park ranger walking out beyond the "Do not enter" sign. This is as far as I saw him go. Then I took the picture and headed back to look from a different view point. I'm assuming he was on his lunch break and just took advantage of the fact that he could disobey the rules. I was too chicken to stick around to see if he did anything else.
I should add that July is part of the burning season in this part of Africa. There was burning going on everywhere, and that created quite a haze the whole time we were in the area.
Technically, any ideas on how to fix the problem of over exposure would be welcomed. It was right around 13.00 and the sun was glaring down on the scene.

Wow, that's an amazing location! And the park ranger seems to be enjoying every bit of it, great lunch break. Concerning the white sky - which from your note was caused not only by the harsh light but also due to the fire's haze - I don't know how to correct it.

Hi Kate,
A very nice angle of shot of this amazing nature scenario with the tired of living park ranger which is sitting dangerously on the edge of a rock...Beautiful caught though!

Salam Kate,
The scenery is really beautiful n I like it..if only you could take this picture early in the morning or near sunset , the result would be better (exposure) ..thanks for sharing.

Cool shot I would be too chicken to sit there even if I could break the rules. I am terrified of heights. As for the overexposure, the only advice I can give you is close up the aperature (f-stop = higher number) and maybe underexpose the shot a little. Once a picture is overexposed it loses that color information, but you can always pull the color out of an underexposed picture. Just don't make it too dark otherwise you will get too much grain when later doing any post-processing.

Kate,
An incredible landscape - one I'm not in the least familiar with. A nice shot - with or without the Ranger.

Hi Kate,
This is a fun, beautiful shot. The landscape is amazing and the guard seems to meditate as he passes his lunch break!
The composition is good with the tree in the foreground giving even more depth to the picture.
Thank you!

Hi Kate,, What a great photo.. I have just come back from the Kruger Park and stopped over at the Three Rondavels.. In he heat of the day it is certainly not easy to get a great picture.. I was there in October , after the burning season so did not have the smoke haze, but still struggled to get clarity due to the heat ( 40 degrees).. I decided that it may be worth going back and geting an early morning shot..
All the best
Rich
PS the gentleman taking his lunch break adds great fun to the picture well done

I wouldn't know whether to call this a death-wish ' or simply a lunch break.
Any how' it came out a great point of view , out there in a beautiful scenery.
