Mantenga Performers, a photo from Hhohho, Northwest

Photographer's Note

This is a photo of part of a performance by traditional Swazi dancers and singers at the Mantenga cultural center. I think the dancer on the right spent more time in the air than on the ground, meanwhile the drummers sat.

I chose this particular crop because I liked the contrast between the flying dancer and the sitting drummers. I also had a problem with too much light behind the dancers, so this was the only way to compensate for it, well cut it out.

Fantastic shot here - I didn't see much from you lately until I realized your latest showings were from Africa...I should have known since my own last uploads are from Norway! Curious coincidence...
This picture is full of life and movement. I like the combination of the colors in the rather - to me - hard contrast.
