Photographer's Note

In alkmaar an event takes place once a year called "Kaeskoppenstad", it reminds of the year 1573, when the small town Alkmaar won the battle against spanish army.
I enjoyed it very much because it gives so many photo opportunities, I hardly could take my eyes off

"By making grateful use of the rich historical decor of facades, bridges and canals, during Kaeskoppenstad a part of the inner city is brought back to the turbulent Middle Ages. In the picturesque winding streets, on the water of the Alkmaar canals and in the narrow alleys of the Old City, you look out your eyes as a visitor. The peasant woman has much pleasure with the hen and the eggs in other hand.
Maybe must she required a good douche but a wonderful picture

A very special "nothing special" from what sounds like a memorable event. The hen is beautiful and the woman is very colourful, ideal for close photographs. The tight crop is perfect.

Wow, have you noticed how jimmj63 posted a photograph of Da Vinci's "Dama con l'ermellino"...this is eerie, because your picture is very, very similar. Like a ironic comment on Da Vinci! And as a picture, of course, yours is the best of the two!
