Photographer's Note
That view of the mountains behind the lake in Valley of the Ten Peaks is known as the Twenty Dollar View, as Moraine Lake was featured on the reverse side of the 1969 and 1979 issues of the Canadian twenty dollar bill.
All Canadian banknotes underwent a major redesign in 1991, partially to incorporate some of the latest anti-forgery methods. Bills continue to be improved, with the latest design revealed on August 25, 2004 and does not feature Moraine Lake anymore.
Please look at the workshop to see a copy of the old 20$ bill.

Hello Andre,
The turquoise colour of the lakes in the Rockies continues to amaze, as it does in thsi beautiful wild landscape, accompanied by an interesting note.

Hello André,
A great version of this classic! Love the stripe of light on the mountains and the trees, the light is in perfect contrast to the dark clouds. Excellent reflections and great colours.
Thanks for the ws, too (I think I liked the old money better).
TFS and greetings from Prague,

Hey Andre...
I have no idea, although I'm not surprise if a country would like to put their most beautiful spot in their note bill.
Stunning picture
I assumed this is early morning photo, the golden colour partly covered by the cloud gave beautiful touch to the peaks and added the great reflection on the lake.
Great composition with the tree included.
I would say this is more than Twenty Dollar View :-)
Thank you for the note and another beautiful capture one of my favourite spot in the world.
Warm Regards

Bravo

Hello André,
That is unfortunate, This is what I remember most of Canada, and it's worth to be on a 100$ for me.
Excellent shot here, the morning light is just fantastic, I know it is actually not easy to capture when the light only shine on a certain spot, it make the contrast too strong, most either over expose the light or underexposed the dark. Here you did just perfectly. even thought the trees on the left just are little dark due to the low light and being on the shadow side of the landscape, there are still so much details. Perfect composition, the foreground tree is well place to balance the composition yet not obstruct the view of the famous ten peaks. The reflection on the turquoise water is spot on. You make me want to go back sooner than later. Thanks
Way

Andre,
This is a great shot of this beautiful location. Your composition is great using the lake to lead the eye into the scene while the lone tree in the foreground adds depth. THe reflection is great adding nice depth and balance for the shot. The streak of sunshine adds a nice effect for the shot. The colors are great here and the photo has outstanding sharpness and DOF.

Hi André,
This scene really deserves to be circulated from hand to hand. And you were lucky to to catch it on such variable weather. That ribbon of sunshine is special. And green colour of the lake is stunning.

The light was well managed amd to get that glassy look was a real bonus. The lone tree was well placed in the scene.

Hello André,
Pfff.. Quelles couleurs !

Yves.

Hi Andre
I'd say that this view is worth a bit more than 20 bucks!! This is a much photographed and well known scene but always great to see - especially this version with the ribbon of light and reflections which really lift the scene and add a 3D effect. Stunning light and colours, a real dream of a shot.

Hi Andre.
The story about the 20 dollar view is very interesting, and of course as you show, it's not strange they chose exactly this view! Thanks also for showing the old 20$ bill in the workshop.
As I said, I really like this picture and I love those Canadian lakes with clear, ice cold water between high mountains. The reflections in the clear and fresh water are as beautiful as the mountains themselves and I love the composition. The colors are beautiful, and look very natural. It's such views that make me want to see Canada sometime!
Regards, Fredrik
