"Dreamliner", C-GHQQ, a photo from Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv

Photographer's Note

As you all know by now, my other hobby in photography is planes-spotting.
It's been sometime I had tried an Air-Canada Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" picture, that would have the favorable light conditions, and a good weather to take one such picture. The challenge with this particular airline and plane is its colors, which is not easy to get a perfect contrast, especially on a strong daylight.
This particular plane, registration C-GHQQ , first flown on Oct.12th 2014, powered by two GE engines and can carry 250 passengers.
Flight from Tel-Aviv Ben-Gurion airport to Toronto, Canada, right after take-off from runway 26. Flight duration an approximate 11h40m( flying from Toronto to Tel-Aviv is normally shorter: 10h30m +/-).

Hi Ike my TE neighbor today!

A great shot of the Air Canada plane and a superb upward pov with good tight framing. The airline itself doesn't have a good reputation. The diagonal axis adds dynamism and excellent sharpness considering the speed these things move at! Tfs!

Awesome capture of my favorite subject! Great pov and sharp details. I heard in the news yesterday that Qatar will start flying non-stop from Qatar to New Zealand a distance of 9,000 miles with flying time of about 18 hours! But Singapore Air is planning a much longer non-stop flight soon. I get tired just thinking about that much time on the air. TFS.

Hello Ike,
it's a very fine plane, the design and colours of its logo have great graphic value and really stand out amid the dominating blue tones. I like the angle and timing of your capture, the plane gaining height and its wheels being withdrawn. Details and textures are superb, some parts look 3D. Congratulations and thank you!

Hi Ike,
I don't know much about airplanes to be honest. But I can understand the interest of planes-spotting. I like old mechanical machines, especially antique motorcycles. This is an excellent shot of a dreamliner with all details pin-sharp and easy to read. I understand how airplanes work but still find it remarkable that a machine of this size can fly:) Tfs!

Hi Ike,
it is a good one! I admire indeed how perfect it is so that we can read the little inscription "dreamliner". To be honest I thought that those planes are two levels or so. In this photo it does not appear to me as especially big. Maybe when one travels with dreamliner it becomes more obvious that it is bigger.
Tel-Aviv seems to have plenty of connections. Is it the biggest airport in Israel?

Hello Ike,

I wonder what people would have said 100 years ago, if you had told them that you could transport 250 people across the world, from Israel to Canada and that it would only take 11 hours! I still marvel how these giants manage to stay aloft!

It's a great shot and one that you must be proud of! The aircraft is nicely tilted and shows up well against the cloudless sky.
It appears that the wheels are just retracting and that helped me to notice a small light on the underside of the plane.

You know, I might have copied and pasted a little more sky in front of the cockpit, to give a sense of space into which the plane could fly. I know how difficult it is to get such accuracies when things are moving at speed!

Hi Ike,
Some time ago, I can remember that the first Dreamliner for the KLM had arrived.
They made some flights around Holland and I think I did see it. Big plane – Wrong place.
It is always fascinating to see such a big bird against a beautiful blue sky.

A gorgeous color, which gives the image a lot of chromatic richness.

Ike, the air Canada aircraft just took off from Ben Gurion airport. It is starting its long journey, it will cross half of the world, Europe then the Atlantic ocean to reach Toronto. The plane has an attractive painting with the mapple leaf. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.
