Photographer's Note
Weaving is a major source of income for the villages around Bajawa, in Flores. The finished product will be a sarong. The weaving style is ikat, which involves dieing either the warp, weft, or both before the cloth is woven. The sarongs of this region are traditionally made using this process.

My mother was a handloom weaver and I've done a wee bit too, so it's fascinating to see this process done a different way in Indonesia. I like the vibrant colours and the clarity of this photo, allowing you to take in the detail.

Hi Steve,
I have noticed you doing some really cool frames, with the border color matching a dominant color in the image. This shot is excellently framed, and the luminosity is superb.
Well done

Hi Steve,
Looks like you have seen so much of Indonesia which is so near to where I am for the moment, but I have yet to visit most of the places you have shown us so far.
I like this well exposed daily life shot, capturing her in weaving action while turning her face towards you for a quick shot. BTW, do you speak the Indonesian language?

Hi Stephen,
I find it fascinating the way she is sitting with the 'strap' around her waist holding her up and attached to the weaving machine. I remember these ikats and I love the ones I bought in Indonesia. Here you have caught her at a nice moment and with super details and lovely light.

Very good picture of traditional waving of Nusa Tenggara. For the shot, I think i would like this better if angle was lower.

Hello Stephen,
An interesting style of weave while using traditional method. I like your way creating your perfectly captured scene with lady. Floor, colors, her body language, especially her expression are adding great values. Wonderful, congratulations.
