Photographer's Note

This is another photo of Safira, an abandoned village, in the Alentejo.
I've already shown the ruins of the 16th century church, devoted to Our Lady of Nativity and also details of the houses in ruins. Here is another one! - a typical house from this region. There are still several there, but the village was abandoned several decades ago, when the inhabitants left to the city and nearest villages.

So fresh and sharp image with impressive color and much lights. Shining bright contarst is wonderful.

Hi Ana,

It is such a sad view of the abandoned houses or entire villages. and there is some mystery in it. I would at once wanted to go inside and explore.

A superb shot and the far best of your series (so far), Very well framed and really well composed. I Iove the strong diagonal line starting from the right bottom corner and the chimney is perfectly positioned. Excellent colours lighting and sharpness. TFS and have nice Sunday!

Olá Ana,

Despits its relatively small size, I am continually fascinated by the worthwhile sites of Portugal — usually bathed in the Southern European sunlight. Here the abandoned village and its church makes dramatic subject with the pristine blue sky as the background. The colors and textures of the walls in disrepair show up with excellent resolution.

very nice old age architecture shot with nice play of warm light over it...like the textures decayed wall...the deep blue sky work as a BG here.

quand des ruines sont bien entourées, et que les couleurs explosent, le résultat peut-être très agréable pour un sujet somme toute banal.
Un régal pour les yeux, bien traitée cette scène.

Magnifico grafismo y texturas, las de este bonita composicion, esta casa abandonada captada en un bonito angulo, rodeada y salpicada con esas zarzas y juncos, aportan unos bonitos toques.

Questi vecchi ruderi emanano un grande fascino, pieni di storia e intrisi di tante storie vissute. Mi piace moltissimo il modo in cui ce lo proponi, con una resa incredibile delle mura e con colori fantastici. Complimenti mia cara amica.

el azul del cielo está muy bien polarizado, y tiene un gran atractivo, creando un fantástico contraste con la vieja arquitectura de esta casa abandonada.
La imagen tiene una luz espléndida, y unos colores perfectos.
Es un bello trabajo, muy bien realizado, en una composición muy elegante.

Like it, from your mini serie. Its a great record shot in superb detail showing this rustic abandoned house in sad state which had seen the betters days. Very well cropped but look so eyecacthing against rich blue sky but simply love the stark grittiness feel. Excellent tones and contrast, the weathered look really makes for me. Fabulous work,

An image full of character, Ana. I love the rich textures of these old walls and the strong angle leading into the composition makes it a simple and strong composition. Nicely sharp too. For me I would have cropped off some of the sky, throwing more emphasis on the cottage. There is a touch too much sky for me, but, all in all a lovely scene, well recorded. Regards Kevin
