Photographer's Note
I was driving my car when I saw that huge frozen pillar of ice. It has an approximate height of 25 feet. The source runs permanently but water freezes as it moves away from the source. The cold temperature supports this kind of phenomenal shape.

Hi Denis,
It is an amazing scene ..you have captured it with great composition and control of the colors .. it feels over sharpened on the edges of the snow and ice .. also see the slight halo around the column from the sharpening ... very nice.
take care,
John

bonjour une otre fois, denis
wow... this is quite a find. nature sculpturing at it's best. excellent light and brightness in your foto and i love your composition too here. i guess, i would be tempted to come back to this one again and again: try out all different lights the nature has to offer here. but your shot is very impressive as is. i would say - a very trek-earthy picture.

Hey Denis,
A fine capture and a good eye.
Nicely composed. The clarity is fine, so are the tones of white, its just something you dont see every day. :)
See you around.

Salut Denis,
Truly a n artistic sculpture of nature, isn't it?
The simplistic compo is very adequate to the theme.
What are those stains on the sky?

What a wonderful display of the dramatic forces of nature. The ice formation is seen in wonderful details and sharpness that contrast beautifully with the vivid blue sky. Very effective framing and I really like the view of the valley.

Bonjour Denis,

This is amazing, Denis. So very statuesque, almost like intentionally abstract art by a celestial sculptor. Very crisp and clear, nice work with the point of view. The whole image shouts cold...and majestic!
Love it,

Hello Denis,
I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like it. It reminds me of something that you would expect to see on a glacier, but this looks more rectangular and solid while glacial ice is irregular. I think I can picture the formation of this column, the spouting water slowly froze. At first glace I thought it were a pine tree covered in frost. It is a great shot indeed. My only concern is that there is a little over sharpening along the point where the darker background meets the lighter snow. It is not a major thing, just compression. Looks great.

Hi Denis,
Wow, I find this really very impressive to see, such a huge column of ice. The blue sky is a beautiful background with a small clouds as a nice detail on the right hand side. Great composition too, thanks for sharing!

Bonjour Denis,

Bon WE

Hi Denis
I like the composition; an example of the rule of third and the subject is quite interesting as well. In my opinion, however, you have made too much noise reduction so the formation has lost its detail and the white edging around it is quite apparent.
