Hill Top Vagator, a photo from Goa, West

Photographer's Note

View of the Vagator beach and the Arabian sea from the Vagator hill top. The beach is located in North Goa around 8 kms. from Panjim the capital of Goa. Pictured here is the Big Vagator beach from the top of a cliff. Towards the left is the lesser known Little Vagator Beach. The beach, specially the hill top from where this photo is taken is famous among western backpackers for its rave parties. The International Sunburn Festival, has also shifted base from Candolim to Vagator hilltop in recent years. If you are not interested in music, Vagator is also a fine place for a laid back holiday. The best places to stay in Vagator is a little bit away from the sea, due to restrictions on construction near the beach, but those are all within walking distance. This has helped to keep the beach calm and clean.

Hi Subho,
This is a beautiful scene of this beach, and one I need to see this morning. Outside my window, a storm is blowing, the sky is grey and the rain is heavy, so its another world to be able to be transported to this beautiful paradise. It is great to hear of there being restrictions on construction near the beach too, so many of the worlds beaches have been wrecked by the construction of horrible apartments and hotels. Nothing can beat the natural look of a beach like this. Thanks for the great note too.

I have never been to Goa, but this is one good shot of the sea, with the blue of the water mixing flawlessly with one of the sky.

Very nice pov from hill-top. Wonderful blues here. To portray the vastness of sea and sky, you have left sufficient negative space... liked it. Excellent colors. Tiny human figures and bathers at the far end, add life to the scene.

A very good shot of this tropical paradise. Nicely composed with the palms at the left.
The beach certainly looks popular but the people seem to be wearing regular clothes rather than beach wear. I had heard that Goa is a very popular tourist destination for Europeans.

Fascinating landscape, captured with stunning POV, from a high point, which lets you see this pretty extensively coastline, beautiful the curling effect of waves, where foaming to get to the beach, the palm trees are very well positioned right image and give a great tropical charm to the image.

A lovely seascape from a high vantage point. The colors are soothing and the surf brings some dynamism. It looks like there is considerable tide, I imagine those rocks are covered during high tide.

What a super beach we here a lot of this area with European people holidaying here. Only a few in the water, most with longs trousers on I am assuming it is winter time.

One of my favorite place when I go in Goa, the sea isn't attractive to bathe as it's muddy with so many rivers as Chapora. Spagetti beach isn't so far from here, you took the picture from the hill where there is the parking for cars and motorbikes, pleasant hues, high definition and good pov, warm regards Subho

how can I not love this? Fantastic capture of the Arabian sea waves that I loved so much while staying in Goa, amazing vast perspective and perfect colors!
I didn't travel to the north and I see the sand is gray here as if of volcanic origin. There were golden beaches in southeren Goa where we stayed, loved the place.

Hello Subho,
that is a very nice picture taken from quite high POV. That gave the photo really nice view and wide panorama towards the beach. The tiny silhouettes of the people indicate how high you had to climb to take this picture. I like the palm trees in the corner which frame the composition neatly .

I like very much the wide and comprehensive view that has included a fascinating seascape and as much of the two beaches as possible. The palm trees, the low vegetation and the rocks define the character of the shore superbly. There's great clarity and the light makes the colours and the atmosphere vivid and agreeable. Coming from Greece, I'm not used to seeing so many people standing along the beach with their clothes on:) The beach looks like a natural promenade to me:) Congratulations and thank you!
