Looking at the moon, a photo from Barcelona, Catalonia

Photographer's Note

During a pleasant visit at the House Batlló in my city, with my husband and a few good friends of Trekearth, I achieved to catch this scene of the spectacular chimneys designed by Gaudí, and the moon on the sky at the blue hour.
The ensemble seemed to me extremely aesthetic.

Durante una agradable visita a la Casa Batlló en mi ciudad, con mi marido y unos buenos amigos de Trekearth, pude captar esta escena de las espectaculares chimeneas diseñadas por Gaudí, y la luna en el cielo a la hora azul.
El conjunto me pareció sumamente estético.

Hi Pilar,i been there me too in the last year,but in morning,and as i can see in the evening is truly beautiful and different with this special atmopshere under the moon and whit these special lights.A great imposing perspective and the best exposure and details,i like it!! Hola Pilar,
The architecture of Gaudí may sometimes look a bit like a fairytale, here you managed it to give the roof and the chimneys of Casa Batlló a real magical feeling.
The lighting and the colours are wonderful, very warm and magnificent under that blue sky.
The moon is an extra very attractive element of the picture.
I love the fact that the different architectural decorations are clearly visible.
Excellently composed.

Hi Pilar - beautiful shot of this Gaudi work, and from a perspective that oddly reminds me of a turkey, with a fan tail behind it (at left). Great light at blue hour, and the moon is a nice capper here. Thanks!

Ainsi cadrée en contre-plongée, l'œuvre de Gaudi n'en parait que plus majestueuse, d'autant qu'elle est magnifiée ici par de splendides couleurs, une lumière d'exception, et un contraste remarquable avec le ciel. L'image est d'excellente qualité, et la composition mettant l'accent sur ces cheminées aux formes magiques, est vraiment bien pensée. Une très belle mise en valeur du travail de cet architecte génial et talentueux.

Hola Pili, I hope that one day I will also see casa Battlo with the friends from Trekearth. But now I admire your marvelous picture. The light is really splendid. Wonderful blue hour shot with the moon as cherry on the cake. Original composition, congratulations!

I agree with you - it is very pretty picture and the quality of the picture is very good. I like tight framing with excellent sharpness and attention to details. The architecture is stunning and you managed to show its beauty very well.
The moon over the chimney adds extra interest.

Una de la mejores y mas atractivas vistas de casa batllo, muy buena composicion , hora azul y luna crean un ambiente original, donde el contraste de color es protagonista, asi como la estructura de esa chimenea

Hola amiga Pili.
Esta maravilla de Gaudi, esta soberbiamente captada en este fantastico contrapicado, con el bonito fondo del cielo a la hora azul, que ademas tiene el extra, de hacer casi coincidir la luna casi con los pinaculos, la calidez de la luz electrica sobre los mismos, les da un encanto especial, muy diferente de la luz diurna en que yo los vi, aunque esta fantasia arquitectonica es tan hermosa, que en cualquier momento y condiciones, tiene su toque especial de encanto.
Magnificamente gestionanda la exposicion y presentado muy bien, con este elegante y apropiado marco.
Os deseo una buena semana.

una buena sesión fotográfica aquella bonita tarde de Diciembre, en buena compañía, la recuerdo con cariño.
Qué puedo decir de esta magnífica composición, minimalista, poderosa visualmente, y muy atractiva y elegante.
La gestión de la luz es espléndida, los tonos cálidos de la iluminación de esta preciosa arquitectura bañan el conjunto de estas increíbles chimeneas de Gaudí, creando un bonito contraste con el cielo a la hora azul.
Y la pequeña luna es la guinda en el pastel de una foto preciosa.

Bonjour Pilar,
J'aime beaucoup la composition de ta photo.Tu concentre notre regard sur cette cheminée ,à la forme très particulière.Elle semble se tordre et lutter pour se dresser vers le ciel,et peut être atteindre la lune qui brille la-haut.
L'effet de texture ,le craquelé de la matière est particulièrement perceptible.Et j'adore aussi l'éclairage de la scène et ces couleurs très chaudes.

A pleasure getting acquainted with you in TE..indeed I had got used to seeing Barcelona through the eyes of my dear friend Josep from 7 years ago...and he continues to inspire me.

This is a wonderful picture where the key to the beauty is the exposure and the blue hour. The finely lit up chimneys look beautiful against the blue hour sky and the moon is the cherry on the cake..

La Casa Batlló presenta muchas oportunidades fotgráficas. Me gusta esta escena, con el cielo de la hora azul, y con las chimeneas. Parece que hay una luz de oro sobre ellas. Buena exposición y presentación, incluyendo la pequeña luna.

Although I did not go inside Casa Battlo I did photograph the exterior twice, both day and night, and I visited and entered Casa Pedrera, where similar chimneys and stucco work can be seen. I like the contorted fairycastle look of these chimneys. Good warm cold color contrasts and superb sharpness and saturation. Gracias!

What a truly magnificent image this is. The combination of this unique style of building under its orange light, and the blue hour with moon so beautifully apparent. All composed perfectly on thirds too. Really nicely done, this is a true beauty.
