Photographer's Note
A view of the bridge tower at the end of the Charles Bridge on the side of Malá Strana. In the distant past, Malá Strana was called Malé Město Pražské (Lesser Town of Prague). Malé Město Pražské was created in 1257 by amalgamating a number of settlements beneath the Prague Castle, into a single administrative unit. This was done during the reign of Přemysl Otakar II. The newly-founded town got the permission to be a royal town, and many more privileges. The residents were mostly German craftsmen, invited by the King. Even though the city was royal, the King did not master the city as a whole. By the middle of the century the city was renamed Malá Strana. Baroque architecture predominates in Malá Strana, but the history of the district dates back to far before the Baroque era. Baroque architecture eventually dominated when the style became successfully implanted on Malá Strana after the district was devastated by fires in 1541.

Hello Greg - A superb composition again detailing the fabulous and varied architecture of Prague. I like the placement of the figures; they lead us towards the archway and into the city. The collection of towers and spires all bathed in warm sunlight is very lovely. Nice work1 best regards Rosemary

Hello Grzegorz
You did chose a very nice light to shoot this wonderful scene. The golden colour tones suits the fine old architecture very well, and enhances the many details. Great choice of POV and good sense of depth. Great work. TFS. Have a nice evening.

Hi Grzegorz,
a perfect POV you have chosen here, narrowing all the towers and staues on one plane with great effect. The light is also very good.
Have a nice evening

Hello Grzegorz,
Beautiful shot. So many details to look at, and everything pleasantly put together. You don't mention which time of the day it was, but I guess it was quite early (angle of the sun, bridge relatively empty). I think I had tried more or less the same type of composition when I was there ca 15 years ago. I haven't looked at those slides for years. Thanks for remembering me that!

Hello Grzegorz,
I like very much the manner in which you compressed the scene, both in choice of vantage point, and the use of a long focal-length lens. The light is excellent, and the resolution surpassing.
Warm regards,

Hi Gregg
excellent!
now thats what i call a collage!
you have SO much squeezed into this little box, so much to see, so much to gaze upon.
sometimes its great to compose scenes like this, instead of going for the typical wider angle.
makes for a dramatic visual.
splendid composition
cheers
