Photographer's Note
Inflation in Zimbabwe was running rampant ... 15 minutes of Internet time cost $250 Zim in January, but rose to $5000 by August.

A very important picture - especially for this "learning on the earth through" photography. With an inflation rate of more than 4.000% this year and an estimated rate of up to 1 Million % next year, the economy of Zimbabwe is on the brink of collapsing or probably even has already done so. All economic indicators for Zimbabwe have reached rediulously low levels and it is an unfortunate example of how a prosperous and flourishing nation can be crippled within only very few years of misguided rulership.
So although the picture is neither as sharp as it could be nor is there any special point of view to it, I still regard it as an important picture from a documentary perspective - and it is among the very few "critical" pictures of Zimbabwe.
Thus thank you very much for uploading and your short but informative note on the picture.
