DRY VICKY, a photo from Matabeleland North, West

Photographer's Note

I visited these famous falls at end of the dry season. There was very few water there, anyway the place is beautiful even totally dry. You can imagine these curtains of water during the flood, I guess this would impossible to take image during that time.
From this angle you can see how narrow is this canyon. At left and in the background we have Zambian territory.

Visitei estas famosas cataratas durante o final das secas; havia bem pouca água ali então, mas vocês podem imaginar esses paredões cobertos com uma cortina de água durante as cheias, contudo imagino que tirar fotos então seria bem difícil.
Deste ângulo podemos ver o território de Zâmbia à esquerda e ao fundo.

Impressive waterfalls with this pov and the view of the almost dry canuon, original to sea these falls in this season, not usual presentation but also interesting to see.

A pity that we not can hear the stream of the waterfal, this only must are a nice experience.
Excellent perspective and depth picture with lovely colours.

Yet another "corner" over the big falls, but without the abundance of water we saw on the previous photo.
Black rocks marvelousely shown, like a look into earth... DOF tyhrough well rendered.

Hi Jorge,
This wide angle shot shows well that deep and narrow canyon, water has carved through ages. And seeing this it is clear that on other times the amount of water is vastly bigger. At the moment small flow gives good contrast to the big canyon.

Impresionante la grandeza y altas paredes de este cañon, la caida del agua de la catarata, cuando su caudal sea mayor, debe ser un espectaculo fantastico, aun asi el lugar impresiona por su belleza salvaje y natural.
Maravillosa gama de colores.
También tanto la nitidez, como la iluminación están genial.

What????? Really? The river was that low? I was soaking wet after visiting 2 weeks ago. But I agree the canyon is amazing anyway. Don't know how you found this point of view, but it's certainly a good one!

In the dry season, Vicky seems a little anemic. Interesting that two of the three great waterfalls of the world are located at the boundaries between two countries.

Possivelmente será mais impressionante com mais água, mas apesar disso, não deixa de ser uma vista impressionante, que aproveitaste muito bem para fazer uma bela compo, bem equilibrada, dinâmica e com uma grande sensação de profundidade.

No puedo creer que esta sea la vista de las re famosas cataratas, aun en epoca de seca las creia mas impresionantes, deben de serlo en la estacion de las lluvias e imagino que mas dificil de tomar fotos
