Photographer's Note
There is more to Afghanistan than the burqas and the war. I dedicate this picture to all those which seek something else in the sunsets, all over the world. What I saw over there is a sharp and different light, and also, an enormous drop in temperature between the day and the night (> 40°C). In the beginning, one wonders why everyone is searching the sun at the end of the afternoon. When comes the night, everybody has the answer...

Hello Marc,
Nice group portrait. Very typical Afghan surroundings with the high walls of mud bricks.

very nice and emotional picture. I like the background you have chosen. He looks like he can use some help, yet very caring for his family

Hello Marc,
The big rock wall with the different drawings or lines make this picture very nice, but the father and his two children are the real eye catcher.

Cath.

Another very powerful family shot from Kabul. Composition is excellent. Colors are good. The subject is the real kicker here...to see a father holding his two children is something I don't think I have ver seen before from Afghanistan. It's always the father holding the gun, or fighting, or leading the burqa clad wife behind him. Very original in that respect. A great "daily life" shot of Kabul. I would love to see more of these. It really gives the viewer a feeling of compassion from the man.
Excellent.
Great work.

Wonderful shot of father and children.I like his protective embrace and the way the little ones nestle in his lap.The neutral and uniform background accentuates the human interest. Well done. Regards. Klaudio.

Ciao Marc,
I was looking through your interesting gallery and immediately noticed this one! I like how you caught the "small" family against the tall brick wall.
A very nice shot indeed!
Regards, Cristian
