Photographer's Note

The Blue Mosque is an 18th-century Shia mosque in Yerevan, Armenia. It was commissioned by Huseyn Ali Khan, the khan of Erivan. It is one of the oldest extant structures in central Yerevan and the most significant structure of the Iranian period. It was the largest of the eight mosques of Yerevan in the 19th century and is today the only active mosque in Armenia.

The mosque was secularized in the 1920s and housed the History Museum of Yerevan for more than five decades. Following Armenia's independence, the mosque was renovated with the support from the Iranian government and again started operating as a mosque, serving the Iranians residing in Yerevan.

Hello Piotr,
I don't remember this mosque, but you found it and also found a good close angle. The low POV gives us a fine view of the nicely decorated dome. The shade covering the walls enhances the fine light on the dome. You exposed the photo very well.

A great photo of the beautiful dome of the mosque, its decorations are wonderful and lit so well by the bright sunlight. The darker brick walls in the foreground add a great contrast as well. Very well done.

Piotr, the blue mosque dome is superbly decorated with mosaics. This architectural style reminds the mosques found in Iran and Uzbekistan. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Wonderful tiles on the dome of the mosque, with some drawings that seem to me different from those seen elsewhere, the shadowed wall seems to be also adorned.
