Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is a royal Islamic mosque located in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of the Sultanate of Brunei. The mosque is one of the most spectacular mosques in the Asia Pacific and a major landmark and tourist attraction of Brunei.

This photo is usually taken under a nice blue sky. The light became very special when thse big dark clouds arrived...

Hello Julien - It looked good in the thumbnail but is magnificent opened up. A superb and beautifully managed shot. I love the light, the colours, the composition. Hello Julien,
I don't think that a nice blue sky would be equally effective as these clouds. This tropical sky makes a brilliant backdrop.
The palace and the boat come straight from a fairy tale. A pity that the palace isn't standing alone and that we can see modern buildings on the background.
All in all it's a wonderful picture!

This is a very well done picture. Exceptional moment that comes rarely in the life of a photographer. (Even less of a tourist). If you only have to draw a picture you had in your life so far, been worth it :-)

Bonjour Julien,
La qualité de cette photo est remarquable, et les sujets qui la composent le sont tout autant. La mosquée est bijou d'architecture dont l'apparence lui donne des allures de palais des mille et une nuits. Le bateau très élégant ajoute sa part de féérie, et compose avec la mosquée une image de toute beauté. Dommage que les immeubles, si discrets soient-ils, cassent un peu le spectacle. La photo n'en demeure pas moins superbe.

The dark cloud formation mixed with blue and side lightning transform this into such an awesome shot, the best conditions for landscape photography. This coupled by subtle colors and interplay of contrasting colors, the golden dome is vital focal of interest whilst the amazing water reflection provides an effective anchor to the view. There are lots of fine detail to enjoy in great dof sweeping through. A much delightful picture, well taken. Great shot! Congrats

J'avais remarqué celle ci, à juste titre parce que c'est une superbe photo! Le temps un peu orageux et les nuages ont créé des conditions de lumière excellentes. Joli cadrage décentré et magnifiques reflets!

This a one thousand and one night place and photo!
what a light you have found! And how well you have managed it.
In Baunei they know how to attracts tourists! It seems the setting of a film. The scene would have been pretty enough by itself but with those reflections and the fantastic contrast with the dramatic sky is a real marvel.

Très beaux effets de couleurs, de reflets entre le ciel et l'eau. Bonne profondeur de champ.
