Photographer's Note
6.15a.m. - It’s quite some time that I did not post any shots from Brunei and digging through my earlier folders I thought this might be interesting.
Jerudong Park is an amusement park and can be reached in just 20 minutes from the town centre by car. This park was officially opened on the 15 July 1994 and was launched to coincide with the Sultan’s 48th birthday. It spans an area of 104 hectares and filled with exciting games and rides to cater for all ages. Celebrities like Michael Jackson and Whitney Huston have made appearances at its amphitheatre attracting huge crowds not only from the locals but also from neighbouring countries. Initially entrance was free and visitors had only to join the queue to enjoy any of the facilities available. However, lately visitors are charged a nominal fee to enter the park and to enjoy the games and rides.
This crystal arch adorned the entrance to the park where the musical fountain is and is set in a roundabout. I was there one early morning just before sunrise to take park in a walkaton and took this shot. It was not very impressive but after a bit of PP ended up with this one. What I did was to just add a red graduated filter to boost the red colour.

Olá Aloysius
Uma foto muito bonita onde a cor do céu é um show à parte; além de ser um espetáculo faz um fundo maravilhoso e que realça as formas do monumento. Belo trabalho.
Parabéns!

Hello Aloysius,
A good POV looking at this landmark structure with all four "leg" equally spaced, set against a stunning morning sky. The PP effort is well worth it and the result is very impressive with that colourful sky for a sunrise.

Hello Aloysius
Yes the sky makes a lot of difference, good PP work here! The arch is interesting & from this view does not appear to be made of crystal. From this angle the all the four legs are clearly visible with the fountain in the centre. Well done!
Best Regards

Hello Aloysius,
An impressive sky to serve as backdrop for the monument!
Fine lines and a well composed image, sharp details and a good sense of depth...
The low light is improved through successful post processing!

Very impressive shot Aloysius, beautifully composed. The sky is really beautiful in this shot, the colours and details are superb. Very detailed.
I visited Jurudong Park back a few years after its opening, when it was free to enter. I also visited this arch as well, A very intriguing country to me. The people are really nice, it was a pleasure to be their, we actually purposely missed our flight to spend a few extra days in Brunei.
Thanks, Mayby someday i shall return to Brunei to visit again.
Thanks!

hi Aloysius,
I was browsing almost aimlessly photos from places I've never been and places I have only a very vague idea of, and came upon this photo. the futuristic shape caught my attention, as did the colours of the sky (despite the overexposrue), and I quite like the futuristic feeling of the scene. I might have tried composition without the grass in the foreground, but that is not a major point.
best,
Kristine
