Photographer's Note
Residents of a squatter's village in Phnom Penh, Cambodia are in need of assistance. The World Bank estimates roughly 5 million of Cambodia's 15 million residents exist on less than 2000 riels $ .50 per day. This area is located less that one block from Phnom Penh's main tourist strip.

Hello John,
Je suis vraiment très content de ton retour sur TrekEarth,
Beaucoup de tristesse et de désespoir dans les yeux de cette dame,
Une image très dure avec la main tendue de cet enfant,
Très bon dimanche à toi et au plaisir John,
Robert

Hi John!
Good to see your pictures again (we thought you were dead)..just joking...This one is full of impact. I remember Phnom Penh well. It is certainly a city of contrasts, teaming with life, some of it quite desparate I think. Technically the photo is great too....clear and natural. Cheers,
Steve
