Near the small temple complex of Lolei we came across this boy guiding a cattle powered cart full of hay. The cattle were a bit shy of us and our tuktuk.

Hello Ian,
It is clear from the photo that the cattle are startled by something, presumably by the engine noise of the tuk tuk.
The animals seem fairly thin to me to pull such a cart.
Beautiful daily life-picture.

Hello Ian,

A good daily life scene of the brahmin cows pulling the oxcart. The rich red soil explains why people grow crops here and why the jungle is so luxuriant and fast growing. Tfs!

I have enjoyed your photos of temples, but it's nice to get back into the daily life of the local people. This is a very attractive photo with superb colours and light, a strong focal point and the red dirt road seen on a diagonal.

Hello paul,

This confirms my opinion that people who work on the land become responsible at an early age. I know, children who live on farms, take care of animals and seem to understand the routines of daily life much earlier that city urban children.
This is an excellent, daily life photograph. Good sharp details of the cart, animals and driver!

A good photo of the cattle, cart and the boy, who can barely see where the cattle is taking him. The green of the trees and the red-brown road made a fine backdrop.

I see you had your camera ready to shoot all the time even while riding the tuktuk. This has certainly paid off with the great road scene. The two coware caught in very nice poses and the young driver is a bit of surprise,

in india I saw adult ox taking the cart, but here we can see they are only 2 poor calves. impressive their fragility. nice view of the boy at work above the straw.

Going through your Indo China travellogue, doing some catching up, this one stood out for me, Ian. I like how the three protagonists in the shot all seem to have a different direction in mind. My bet is the boy wins, though. Great red earth too!
