Photographer's Note

On my last day in Cambodia, I visited Chong Kneas floating village on the Tonle Sap Lake. I saw this little guy paddling through, smiling and laughing with his friends. He was all dressed up in a nice suit jacket, looking so proud, so happy. I loved his smile, loved his spirit.

It is incredible to see such happines and laughter despite very difficult conditions. I am in such awe of their spirit.

Hi Spiros,
This is a great daily life image. The photo is nice and sharp and the boys expression is superb and the photo is cropped well. Very nice indeed.

nicely done. good portrait. fine expression and colors. i would only consider shadow on his face - i would wait until he would raise hands down.

A very vibrant and infectious smile on the face here Spiros and good capture of the action in a semi-macro shot which is well lit, nicely coloured and well composed. The framing too is thoughtful.

Very good composition in this picture, vertical works perfect. Really like his expression, you captured the moment!
If I can offer one small suggestion: I would have cropped more from the left (where is nothing interesting) and show more in the right – the tip of the boat in the image would have been nice and in that way the boy would have been centered. Never the less an outstanding shot!

Hi Spiros, and i agree with you about the smile of this boy...it is beautiful...
There is a strong contrast with his dresses...so i think this is a particular image..
It is very strange to see a boy with a jacket...in Cambodia images...
