Faces of China 1, a photo from Beijing, North

Photographer's Note

I will start posting some of the many photos I have taken of people in China. They vary from a very young age to the very old. From the various parts of China that I have visited as part of my work. All have interesting faces. The old people, especially the farmers, are one of my favourites subjects.

This girl and her mother were sitting next to me in bus when I went to the Temple Fair on Chinese New Years Day (see my posting a few days ago of the arthropod lunch).

Hi Malcolm, great shot of this lovely little girl. You've obviously worked quickly and well with the available light. The colours, cropping, POv and sharpness are amazing, especially considering you were sitting on bumpy bus! I look forward to seeing more of your "old farmers". Congratulations, Lisa.

What a great shot this is...really a wonderful photo. She has a precious face, but it's also the clothing she has on...all bundled up..and the lighting that you have captured here, that really gives you the sense of a chilly day. Just a beautiful shot...and looking forward to seeing your other photos, too!
