Photographer's Note
Perhaps what I find interesting in this photo is the extreme contrast in content. The display from toys to Chinese classics is quite dynamic. The interest in the Punjiayuan market is that you never know quite what to expect at each vendor's space. Like a flea market, small spaces are allocated to an individual vendor for a fee. Some have spots they use for years. There is a relative section for jades and another for paintings and many other segments. However there is no fixed rule and one can attempt to sell whatever as defined by the vendor ... normal flea market style.

Hello David,
yes, what a colourful contrast! lots of things which look so strange when they are placed next to each other :) I have seen such markets for real, they are rather interesting. One can take many photos there :)
