This picture was shot in Guide, near the giant praying wheel. The wheel was visited by pilgrims from faraway places in Qinghai province.

This little guy, all dressed up in his best clothes, was terribly proud to be there. He had never seen a westerner before and at first he was a bit afraid of us. But some jokes managed to break the ice, and then he felt awesome and brave. Like that grown-up man he will soon be.
