Presidential palace, a photo from Tbilisi, East

Photographer's Note

On the left bank of the Mtkvari River (also known as the Kura River), the former "Imperial Gendarmerie" building was completely renovated to house the new Georgian Presidential Palace. Italian architect Michele De Lucchi's project of the "Bridge of Peace" was completed in 2009 and includes an impressive transparent dome made of curved glass, designed by architects Vakhtang Zesashvili (Georgian) and Franc Zagari (Italian). This is the main office of the President of Georgia and stands out on the Tbilisi skyline.

Perched on a hill, the imposing building dominates the left bank of the Kura River. The symmetrical building has a Greek colonnade that supports a pediment at the central entrance and a colonnade at each of the two front corners.

En la margen izquierda del río Mtkvari (también conocido como río Kura), el antiguo edificio de la "Gendarmería Imperial" fue completamente renovado para albergar el nuevo Palacio Presidencial de Georgia. El proyecto del arquitecto italiano Michele De Lucchi, el mismo del "Puente de la Paz", se terminó en 2009 e incluye una impresionante cúpula transparente hecha de vidrio curvo, diseñada por los arquitectos Vakhtang Zesashvili (georgiano) y Franc Zagari (italiano). Esta es la oficina principal del presidente de Georgia y se destaca en el horizonte de Tbilisi.

Ubicado en una colina, el imponente edificio domina la margen izquierda del río Kura. El edificio simétrico tiene una columnata griega que sostiene un frontón en la entrada central y una columnata en cada una de las dos esquinas frontales.

Hello Luis,
I like how the modern dome of the palace and the modern design of the building at right are placed as a diagonal in the composition. They are nicely surrounded by trees and the light was pleasant as well.

posso reconhecer a moderna estrutura que você já mostrou antes noutra foto, ao alto o prédio presidencial tem linhas clássicas, mas aspecto moderno, ainda mais com aquele domo envidraçado. linda essa vista da cidade.

Just above the modern "tube", the palace is prominently above with its flag fly with the wind. Nice sight found from this POV.

Hola Luis,
Lovely composition in which you squeezed at least three different points of interest. The supern modern tube in the bottom right corner, the palace on top of the hill and the traditional tower of the church.
Very nice panoramic view and so much green vegetation.
This was certainly quite an exotic trip as well. Close and distant at the same time.
