Photographer's Note

The Kashveti Church of St. George is a Georgian Orthodox Church in the center of Tbilisi, located opposite the Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue.

The Kashveti Church was built between 1904 and 1910 by the architect L. Bilfeldt, who based his design on the medieval Samtavisi Cathedral. The construction was sponsored by the Georgian nobility and bourgeoisie. Kashveti was built on the site of a damaged brick-built church, at the request of the Amilakhvari family in 1753.

La Iglesia de Kashveti de San Jorge es una Iglesia ortodoxa georgiana en el centro de Tiflis, ubicada frente al edificio del Parlamento en la avenida Rustaveli.

La iglesia Kashveti fue construida entre 1904 y 1910 por el arquitecto L. Bilfeldt, quien basó su diseño en la Catedral medieval Samtavisi. La construcción fue patrocinada por la nobleza y la burguesía georgiana. Kashveti fue construida en el sitio donde estaba una iglesia dañada construida en ladrillo, a petición de la familia Amilakhvari en 1753.

Hello Luis,
I hope you had a relaxing time on Menorca. You return to the site with a very neatly composed photo where we see the church perfectly framed by the trees and with a fine light shining on its walls. The dark tiles look wet, so maybe there had recently been a shower. In any case the tiles create good reflections of the beige walls, and a red skirt.

Hello Luis,
The sunlight gave this church such a wonderful warm hue, which looks even better thanks to the dark frame created by the trees. Also the wet pavement looks nice with another nice and warm glow.

Hola Luis,

This is a very well-judged composition.
The silhouetted trees, and feature, make a very effective, natural border to your scene, with the cream-coloured church very strongly placed within them.
It appears as if rain has been recently falling, making wet surfaces which capture a lovely, warm reflection from the church.

Beautiful presentation of this stylish church.
I like this characteristic style. You have obviously thought through the composition very well. The tree branches make a perfect framing. I like the shiny reflecting wet pavement, it adds more light in the shaded area.

Hello Luis, the church is caught in bright sunshine that is also reflected upon the wet paving and on the surface of the pool, giving a lovely effect.
Taken from a good angle so that we are able to see many faces of the building.
The figures add life, and the red trousers catch the eye.

Hello Luis,
The dark framing of the picture puts the light-coloured church in the spotlight.
Its pale yellow tones are well reflected on the tiles and in the water of the fountain.
Your chosen angle shows both entrances and the tower in an excellent way.
