Photographer's Note

I will soon start a new series of photos, but for another short while I remain in India in 1987.

Here is another photo from Puri, a relatively small town in the eastern state of Odisha (in 1987 still called Orissa) packed with temples of all sizes.

I know this photo is a typical Indian cliché, but in a place like Puri the clichés were everywhere. How could I avoid them?

Here is a larger version.

Two more photos of people at temples can be sen as workshops. The entire set is genuinely nothing special, just snapshots without much thought of composition in the crowds. All photos were scanned from Kodachrome slides.
