SCANNED SLIDE
I've taken this picture of the fishermen at the end of the day in Digha, a sea side resort near Calcutta.After the big catches were sold to the wholesale buyers the local traders from small markets and local people came by to purchase the left over from the fishermen. It was a sight to see as the buyers and the fishermen started haggling over the price of the left over fish. At the end everybody came to terms and started sorting the fish to take them home.

Hi Pranab, superb daily life composition with interesting elements - the peculiar sitting position of the guys (so usual in S/SE Asia), their concentration in the fish sort, the fish themselves (somehow I identify with them after reading your note), and a rough idea of the surroundings; very nice, excellent job! Interesting daily life picture of fisherfolks. Nice composition and a picture taken almost 14 years back..!! But I think nothing much has changed in the lives of these people. I have tried a WS to improve the quality of this picture. will post it tomo. TFS.

The activities there are making very curious.
Lot of things to ponder in to.
There is a lazy looking man with a cigar in the middle,he may be the middleman in the dealings.
I would like to see the boys face since his pose says he is very much intersted in all these.
Some are not interested,they are looking the otherway.

Hi Pranab.

Although it is a scanned picture (with the typicall problems of DOF and colour), the concrete moment you show us is great. I only didn't crop the heads of the two people but it is only an opinion.

This is a nice shot. everybody try to pick out the fishes for himself. they are contented people and have a sanctified life. i think they live in like manner now (as shiva_sg comment)

composition is excellent, silvern fishes in center, and dark people in its around. very well pranab
