Photographer's Note

Hope you like the earlier 3 photographs of my recent sundarban trip. I am trying to give a feel of the real place. I took this picture from the Boat, to the river bank. I am trying to show you the daily activities of the local people. Here in this picture the local farmers are crushing the paddy to make the rice out of it. Rice when it is still covered by the brown hull is known as paddy, before going to the market, the rice is threshed to loosen the hulls-mainly by crushing it in wooden table. It’s still a manual process here in this part of the world. The net protects the paddy from the river.

Great shot of daily life in the village! I have some suggestions. Try to crop out some of the sand at the bottom. Also, I think the picture needs some colour balancing - it's too yellow...

this is a nice look of village and daily life of Sundarban. You have captured it with superb light. Composition is so good. Inclusion of a little part of water in foreground is nice idea. A bit yellowish but really a great take. Tfs.

Namaste Abhijit,

this is a fine and interesting photo showing this small village of Bengal. The environment is really Asian with beautiful palm trees and the huts with the hay roofs. It's good to see the daily life of the peasants and the colours are sweet and warm. Do not they use bufalos to crash the paddy there?
