Photographer's Note
The last day of Bengali month of Poush is known as 'Poush Sankranti'. Millions converge at the Saugor island near the confluence of Ganga, the holy river of India and Bay of Bengal. The place is known as Gangasagar. A bath there on the auspicious moment of Poush Sankranti is believed to assure the devotee a hassle free entry into the next life. Kolkata is the point where all the pilgrims from all over India assemble before they travel a little over 100kms by bus and then cross a river to reach the northern tip of the island. From here the other end is about 30kms. This photo was shot in the pilgrim’s camp in Kolkata where some philanthropist is hosting a free lunch for the pilgrims waiting to catch some transport to Saugor island. Almost double the number sitting at the table are waiting behind to rush in as soon as those sitting finish.

Excellent theme and picture/ Colors of glasses/tumblers are good enough to creat attractive color contrast. Its not only color of hope only but color of hunger too.

Hi,
This is a well-spotted colourful picture. Neat. If I may, I wish there was a tighter crop at the top because I feel there's too much unwanted space there (see WS).
Well done anyway.
