The subject is Bijay. He is a poet.
The photo is my first attempt on human-face close-up with my P&S.
The seniors in TE know what to do in such case.

Hello Alekhya,

With a PnS camera its quite clear and detailed portrait with well out of focus background.
It may be a good frame for it but I think framing could have been better. Keeping more blank space on left. And also half part of moustache in the picture. Its like incompleteness. You could have kept it whole in the photo.
and a question. Friend did you bring your camera closer to the subject too? Or Zoomed in only?
I tried a workshop with this photograph. Hope you allow me to do a workshop with it.

Excellent shot here.. I like this close up shot.. Superb image quality and nice colors too.. Blurred background made the original mode of this photo.. Very well done my friend..

You have done well, Alekhya. I like the extreme close-up of his eyes and his eyeglasses, with a sharp image of his nose and mustache. You are lucky that his skin is not unpleasant -- many of us would not look so good when viewed from so close! -- and you have avoided all the other little "somewhat unattractive" elements that we all share, like our pores and follicles. I rate this a successful attempt!

This is a good try Alekhya but I prefer full face picture, I think it's better to see the whole character

hi Alekhya, here is a nice portrait of your kobi-friend. Interestingly presented with cropped mouth and chin. Like it. May be without moustach it looks better, may be, I am not sure. Nice sharp details and very good tonal quality. A nice one. Tfs.
