Photographer's Note
A small temple in a small village;
I have seen in many places in rural India these kinds of small temples in the middle of cultivated land. I don't know the exact reason why these temples is made in the middle of the cultivated land but it's being said by the local people that when a person dies their relatives cremate him that land and after that they made these type of small temple to pay homage to their loved one. These temples are small enough for person to enter.
But this temple is little different because its not in the middle of the land; this is situated at one corner of the small pond but its made by the relatives of the person who was cremated here; A end of one journey & the beginning of another...

Hi Srinivasan
you will surprise indeed a lot with this shot take by your Nokia and indeed this turn to this yellow/green colortone is always more pleasant then a B&W as it enduced some more personal feel to it. I like the trident on top on this rural temple.
A small tip for sharpening: do it on a duplicate layer and dubbel this after sharpening blending one layer to lighten 40% opacity and the other to darken 90% opacity, that should reduce the halo.
greetings and thanks for sharing

Hi Srinivasan,
You are amazing with your Nokia. Whole most of us struggle to take presentable images with our digicams you are doing a wonderful job with that little beauty of yours. Brilliant idea to get that colour tone though many on TE will discourage such experimentation. Don't give up, if you like it..share it with others. You will find many like minded ppl.
Best Wishes

Hello RS. I agree with Henk, that it is a surprisingly good photo from a Nokia! And I think the colour scheme works well. The main thing is you have a good composition with the temple's dome set to one side, and an interesting and dramatic sky. I'm afraid I don't like Ali's WS, there is no need to change anything. A very clever, imaginative photo.

Hi Srinivasan,
Life after death!!
Your notes have embossed the emotions in the picture by your mobile.
When did I see such a sky I don't remeber but the picture is outstanding in all the respects. I wonder how the Nokia people inject the great DOF, as I was surprised When I did capture my third post on TE.

Très étrange. Le ciel jaune est vraiment atypique et mystérieux.
La composition est bonne et la photographie est impressionante car elle a été prise avec un téléphone portable.
Bien vu.

Hi RS,
great picture, the silhouette of this mandir and surrounding vegetation has been captured well. The area by the temple's dome and trees on the left seem to have been oversharpened, as you can see the line between the silhouette and sky showing oversharpness, contrasting to the palm fringe on the right of the dome, which does not seem to have been oversharpened. The oversharpnening does not take away much from the image though, and it is good that there isnt noise in the sky, because alot of times when I sharpen my pictures in PP, the sky gets much noise in it..! The color of the sky may look a bit unnatural, but I like it a lot! Oh, and you are doing very good taking nice pictures like this with your Nokia's camera!
I look forward to seeing more of your pictures taken by the mobile!!
Good job.

Hi Srinivasan,
A good use of the silhouette to further enhanced the interesting sky. I like your choice and inclusion of the local temple here as it helps to indicate the location which is vital when taking shots showing the wonders of the sky. I must say I did learn something about sharpening from Henk too. Well done!! Have an enjoyable day and thanks.

Hi Srinivasan,
It is amazing what you can do with a cellphone camera these days..!
But of course the composition is great, the silhouettes are quite dramatic as seen against the golden sky...
Very fine textures in the veil of clouds... All together a fine presentation!

Hi Srinivasan, the simplicity of this image appeals to me. By focusing on the bare basics - the temple dome, a palm tree, wispy clouds - your photo has become stronger and more meaningful. Great colour too - an atmospheric image that makes me long to return to India. Regards,

Hello RS,
This is simply a stunning shot. I love the color processing here. I find this photo and the accompanying note very touching and beautiful. I am impressed that you took it with your mobile cam. This is inspiring to me, since I carry around my cam as well and find myself shooting from it more often than my regular camera.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful note about the memorials and tributes that people build for their loved ones and ancestors. It is a wonderful tradition that seems to take people back to the roots of all life, to the middle of fields and cultivated lands where new life grows.
My best wishes to you!
José
