Photographer's Note
Here is another common street scene you'd find in India an or many Asian countries...but where I come from in Canada this is unheard of. You would never see this in Canada, they would get pulled over by the police in no time.
I had to capture this one very quickly, as I was afraid I'd miss my shot and opportunity, thats why the front of the truck is cut off, but I got the most important part :)
What I found to be so funny about this scene, is if you look VERY closely, the box in the back of the truck has the words ALL UP written on it. I guess the men were thinking we all have to get up!
Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, perhaps this is a taxi where the riders are suppose to be 'all up' as it says in the back of the truck. hmmmm...that makes sense. Maybe its not a coincidence at all.
There are two more random shots in the WS if you're interested.

Hello Craig,
I found this very amusing. It's like in comedy films, where the farmer is unaware of the people who have sneaked on the back of his hay trailer, for a sneaky lift into town! But, the thought of this, where almost all the town has sneaked a lift, is hilarious!
Yes, I love the connection with 'All Up', it adds another layer of humour!
I have to say, well spotted and very well taken. You cannot have had much time to prepare your camera for this shot!
The w/s are very fine records of the streets but this is something special!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Craig,
Yes, this is sadly typical, but that's why I like this photo. And you definitely cut off the unimportant part of the truck. But so many accidents happen with transports like this. Once on Bali I had to squat on a tiny step at the back of a jeep going uphill, through narrow curves, at full speed. I was desperate not to fall off and quite scared. After a few km someone got off so I could get in. But in India I have noticed that quite a lot of people like to hang on to the back whether its needed or not. Young men probably think it's fun, or they just want to look cool. The "All up" sign is of course the funniest detail here. Nice WS shots too, but of course this is the best one.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Craig,
You have captured well the action of the men getting on the truck. The point of view is showing the details of the truck. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Craig
Love it! Two weeks ago I was on my flight back from Delhi so it's so fresh in my mind and you really captured the essence of Indian modern everyday life here.
The front of the truck is not that important, but the All Up sign is. Well-spotted and well done on reacting quickly.
Two great street shots in WS too.
Best wishes
Kasia

We also often see such scenes on Indian trains, it is very dangerous and I can't imagine traveling like that in Europe :)

Hi Craig,
I see you are also digging into your archives. No trips planned? I started to plan some for this year, nothing spectacular but I am quite happy to have something to look forward to already.
Quite an interesting scene. Yes the public transportation is quite different in other countries. I remember somebody argued with me here that it is much easier to use public transport in poor countries (I think it was PaulVDV)... but I still claim Germany has slightly better developed public transport...
Fantastic scene here and the workshops as well.
Very well done,
M

Hi Craig,in Italy of course this does not happen, but perhaps in Naples it is not difficult to find 3 or 4 people still on a scooter and without a helmet .. hee .. Beautiful scene, even if the truck is collapsing in the center as I can see. Much more orderly and elegant transport in the WS compared to that of the main photo. I also like the color scheme of advertising even though it is often very kitchy here. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Craig
Shades of multiple people and animals on Vietnamese motor bikes. Great one, especially with the last desperate one trying to clamber up.

Hello Craig, I loved to see such scenes in India. Impossible to see something like this in Europe or America. I wonder how many accidents are there? Well captured. And this sign All Up makes it even funnier.
Kind regards MAlgo

Hi Craig, This is indeed typical, I encountered this during my travels in Indonesia too. You captured the lively action very well and it's fun to examine the facial expressions. And in a way the 'All up' makes it. Fab streetwork! Best regards from Rotterdam, Bert.

Hello Craig,
Great daily life photo, this would definitely not be possible in the Netherlands either. Such a crowded car, which isn't very big anyway and it is remarkable that it can even hold that many people, but then it appears to happen regularly, given the sign on the side.

Hello, Craig!
Another interesting and curious daily life scene from India, and the moment is great, just at the time one of the men is getting up, or at least trying to... Very good light, colors and sharpness! Excellent job!

Hello Craig,
Here in Hungary too, you would be pulled over. Even if you try to transport 6 person in a car made for five persons... The photo it self is an excellent daily genre shot.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Craig, that old pick up serves as a public transport. The numerous passengers are trying to find space to sit or stand during the journey. An uncommon and exotic scene from Delhi. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Craig,
Daily life in this region... what a great way to start a new working day. Just looks very disturbing, and I had to say it in a bit ironic way on my side, sorry for that.
Nicely spotted moment.
Best regards,
Ike
